Menstruation Education
Menstruation is a natural, beautiful thing, so why should it cost education?

The problem!

Around the world, 132 million girls are out of school because of poverty, cultural norms, poor infrastructure, violence and fragility, and period-related issues. Menstruation is a natural part of girl's lives and should not be a hindrance to education! Menstruation resources and knowledge should be provided for both boys and girls around the world.

How does it work?

Not only are periods stigmatized, but girls are also misinformed of what is going on with their bodies. Some girls don't have pads or tampons, so they use cloth or paper, which can be damaging and potentially sterilizing. This isn't only a problem in developing countries, in the US and UK, one of five girls misses school due to lack of menstrual products.

About ME!

My name is Zuri Alexander, and I am a rising junior. I learned about this issue two years ago through a film called "Period. End of sentence." The girls who started "The Pad Project" came to speak at an event I attended. I was fascinated and impressed nu how much other girls my age were doing for their community. I decided to create this website to provide resources and spread awareness about this issue. Especially during COVID 19, it is essential to remember that girls worldwide are still facing these issues!
